paper treat

It's kind of an oxymoron, but here is some super-cool wrapping paper designed by Turnstyle for Hemlock Printers.  The packaging is nice and so is the paper.

super cute, super free!

Download  and print these gift tags from
Julia Rothman on design sponge. I'm going to use them on my gifts.

Nawlins, LA

New Orleans is quite the place. Images from my recent trip to the Crescent City.

illustrate this: Evan B. Harris

I love the illustrative work of Portland artist Evan B. Harris. His paintings are beautiful and sad and strange all at the same time.

granola is yum!

This is the delicious result of my first attempt at making granola. It's not very chunky but it is perfectly crispy. I included oats, pecans, sunflower seeds, flax, brown sugar, honey, dried cranberries, and sea salt.

korean vogue

Beautiful images from korean vogue. I love the shape of the hair and the colors of the hanboks.

archer hairline

I'm currently in typography class so I've been thinking about type a lot. According to an online quiz, my typeface is Archer Hairline but as you can see, it's hard to read online.

Nelumbo nucifera

I've taken over half the operation of Fish and Lotus on Etsy. In the next few months we'll be posting some new products, so check back often!

new job!

I am overjoyed to report that I finally found full time work! I'll be doing student services at MacPhail Center for Music in downtown Minneapolis in their lovely building near the river. This has been a long time coming and I'm quite relieved. Now I can move forward with my life and do more of the things I love, rather than stress over finding work. Yay for employment!

I'm a renegade

In just five weeks I'll be heading to Chicago for the Renegade Craft Fair (and to visit some good friends). I'm super excited to see some of my Etsy and blog crafting heroes in person.

I came across this site for a lovely (and small) store in Melbourne called Bhalo. J'adore geometric prints!

Frida, just because

Frida Kahlo has been my favorite artist for a long time. I stumbled across this beautiful image here.

my pinterests

I got my invite to Pinterest and I've been busy "pinning" on my board.

Pinterest is a sweet new visual collective site for art, design, fashion, etc. It's like a giant inspiration board.

Yes, please.

World's smallest interchangable lens camera, the Sony NEX-5 Alpha. It's teeny tiny but takes really good, SLR quality pics. Read about it here.

another lovely etsy store

My fabulously talented mother also has an Etsy store selling beautiful handmade cards. Not to be missed!

I couldn't make it to Art-a-whirl this year, but I was gifted this beautiful print from LovelyMPLS.
Definitely my favorite print from them!

Sticks and Stones

I was at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum today for mother's day and got to see the progress
of the Patrick Dougherty installation. It's going to be amazing when it's done on May 22.

in my future house:

You know what I want to do? I want to color coordinate all my books. I love how this looks!
