Dino DNA!

Jurassic Park has always been one of my favorite movies. Knowing this, co-worker/desk-neighbor Mike Rook sent me a link to the art of Pakoto, an artist from Granda, Spain. I love his playful, vintage take on these scenes from the movie. Mike also introduced me to this Jurassic Park internet delight.

The Weaver House

I love when you're wandering the labyrinth of the web and you end up somewhere beautiful and unexpected. The Weaver House site was a random find, but these Portland sisters have a great eye for taking dreamy photos and finding vintage pieces.

summer at the lake

Here's a fun round-up done by Design Sponge for the summer classic, The Parent Trap, starring
Hayley Mills. I need to watch this again soon. The first part of the movie takes place at a summer camp for girls. I really wish there were summer camps for grown women. I would totally do that.

brass compass $15, recycled sunglasses $21, deadstock vintage swimsuit $190, wooden oar $26, american traders wooden canoe $2700+, swiss army knife $10, ll bean mariner purse $77, pendleton glacier national park blanket $160.

tomboy style

I just discovered this blog, Tomboy Style. It's probably old news, but since there are 800 billion blogs on the interweb (rough estimate) sometimes it takes awhile to find the good ones. The blog features a lot of what I would call "preppy tomboy" style. You know, sailing, loafers, blazers, tennis, the Kennedys, and horses. Lots of horses. I must be a tomboy because I was obsessed with horses and I wear my jack purcells with everything.

closet visit

I stumbled across this amazing site, Closet Visit, on cargo collective. It's the visual record of artist Jeana Sohn as she visits the LA closets of beautiful and stylish women. I love seeing these women in their homes and gardens and closets rather than somewhere staged. They all have amazing collections of vintage shoes and jewelry (naturally) and it would be a dream to raid any one of these closets.
